Cleaners receive first extra pay from historic 19 per cent pay rise

As employers in the cleaning and window cleaning industry saw that cleaners were increasingly struggling to cope with more expensive groceries, Schoonmakend Nederland and unions FNV and CNV agreed on an extra 12 per cent wage increase in May 2023. The extra wage increase came on top of the current collective agreement (7 per cent). The historic wage increase took effect on 1 November 2023. That is when the wages of 120,000 cleaners will go up by 3.5 per cent.
