Commercial corona test sites do not always have enough understanding of hygiene. So concludes the regulator, the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate after random visits to testing sites. The inspectorate stresses that the majority comply with the guidelines.
According to the inspection, there was sometimes not enough attention to possible ‘cross-contamination’, where the person tested transmits the virus to the tester or vice versa. Moreover, the so-called antigen rapid tests are often taken outdoors. For this, the test material needs to be at least 15 degrees warm, but in winter this is difficult.
Contacted over a hundred testers
The inspectorate has now been in contact with over a hundred of the approximately two hundred commercial testers. Following the spot checks, stricter and more targeted inspections will be carried out, the inspectorate announced.
